I did not get to the Festival in 2010 given I worked at the Vancouver Winter games. So this year with -25 weather in Toronto, off we went for the week. As usual it was a blast since my daughter tagged along for her winter break, the Havana weather was spectacular (80’s every day), and the cigars were over the top. Yes the Festival needs to watch some of the prices charged for certain activities but I smoked some great cigars – the new Cohiba 2011 Edicion Limitada and the new Partagas Serie E should be winners in Canada. As usual, the week featured a number of dinners and factory tours, but once again the F&B highlight was the Havana House Night at the pool at the Copa. Speaking of which, the Hotel Copacabana was recently refurbished and should be put on your short list if you plan on staying in Miramar.
