Looks like a busy Cuba cigar factory doesn’t it? It was as we took our group through during our visit on Friday November 19. Production was in full force for Trinidad 2010 Petit Robusto’s, Partagas Serie D N0 2’s, and lots and lots of Montecristo Open cigars. One of the reasons that Habanos products consistently get high CA Magazine ratings is because of diligent quality control checks and we spent some time watching as the team here went over the final 7 steps of a 40 step quality control process.

This year we decided to go a week later than usual in order to attend the annual Partagas Cigar Dinner. Held at the Havana Libre Hotel, the dinner attracts 350 or so fans of this great brand, while raising thousand of dollars for the local health care system. This year’s auction had some particularly interesting prizes. Best part of the night – sitting there with 350 smokers, actually enjoying a cigar with great food and drinks, INDOORS.

Actually one of our favorite places to enjoy a cigar is in the VIP lounge at the Partagas factory. It’s small and smoky but what a cigar venue. Although every once in a while a stop outside to clear the palate also affords some great views of the City.
