What is Sun Grown?

Sun Grown tobacco refers to tobacco plants that are grown in direct sunlight rather than under shade. This method of cultivation produces thicker, more robust leaves with a higher concentration of oils, resulting in a stronger, more flavorful tobacco. Sun-grown wrappers, often darker than shade-grown wrappers, are commonly used in full-bodied cigars, contributing to rich, bold flavors. Sun-grown tobacco is typically associated with regions like Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic, and Honduras, where the climate is ideal for producing strong, flavorful leaves used in premium cigars.
